When the experiment starts Tarek is made a prisoner and he starts to rebel against the guards. He plans to secretly record what does on and interview other particaents. He volunteers and offers to write about it for his former employers, the Colonge Newspaper.
The film focuses on a Tarek Fahd (Moritz Bleibtreu), a taxi driver, who see an advert for the experiment in the local newspaper. 8/10ĭas Experiment is a German film loosely based on the Stanford University Prison Study in the 1970s where a group of students were split into guards and prisoners which lead to minor authoritarian regime with torture being used. To sum things up: Alexander Bubenheim's pace-setting music coupled with the brisk and practical set and fine acting create in "Das Experiment" a masterpiece of contemporary German cinema. To single actors out, such as Justus von Dohnanyi (who plays Berus) or Oliver Stokowski (Schütte) is, however, futile, since they all act well. Of note is Steinhoff (Christian Berkel) who seems to be a regular appearance in Hirschbiegel's pictures, also being present in "Der Untergang". "Das Experiment" relies on stellar performances all around. Their encounter is quite serendipitous, and the speed at which they move toward intimacy with each other is inspiring. The main story is sidelined by #77 (Moritz Bleibtreu)'s spur-of-the-moment and accidental, if very intense romantic involvement with the beautiful Dora (Maren Egert). As such, from the very first minute the viewer is treated to a veritable roller-coaster ride. "Das Experiment" possesses a number of qualities: the musical score does much to keep the pace going energetically forward. The plot here is well-known, the film being adapted from a real life scenario where a team of psychiatrists took to simulating a prison-like environment with a group of volunteers, only to watch them turn into rabid wolves. Stumbling upon "Das Experiment", I would soon find I would not be disappointed. After that, I decided I should look for more of his work. I first came into contact with Oliver Hirschbiegel in 2004's "Der Untergang". But when her husband, Jack, comes to see them, the differences between the two cultures rise to the surface, and Rebecca must integrate the old and the new so that her whole family can be together happily. The women soon realize that they are sisters and Rebecca is welcomed with open arms on a visit to the reservation. In response to her search, she is contacted by a woman on a Navajo reservation who is looking for her twin siblings who were stolen from their mother soon after they were born. Then, years later, after her father dies, Rebecca decides to try to find the family her dad had described to her. But her circumstances are drastically changed when her adoptive mother passes away and her father's new wife shows no interest in his child. Her adoption was never kept a secret from her while she grew up in a loving adoptive family.
A story about Rebecca, a woman who goes in search of her natural parents and in the process finds her long lost family and her rich cultural heritage.
